7 killed in road accident as pick-up van collides with truck in Karnal

Karnal, July 31 : At least seven persons, including a boy, were killed as the pick-up vehicle they were travelling in collided with a truck on Meerut road near Nagla Megha in Karnal. There were 14 people in the pick-up vehicle. They were returning from Haridwar. The deceased were identified as Rajat, Ravinder (driver of pick-up), Vikas, Sanjeev, all residents of Mangalpur; Sudhakar, a resident of Newal; Inder, a resident of Nagla Megha; Ranjeet, a resident of Samashtipur Behar. While Guddi Devi of Durga Colony, Sudhanshu of Karan Vihar, Krishna of Mohdinpur, Amit of Shiv Colony, Sujata of Newal, Ajay of Pundrak, Rohit, Sethpal, Nikhil, Deshraj, Sagar, Rahul, residents of Mangal Colony were among the injured. Nikhil, Sudhanshu and Sagar are said to be critical and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.SHO Sadar Manoj Kumar said a case has been registered against the truck driver.
