Sukhbir Badal denies SAD hand behind sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab, blames ISI

AMRITSAR: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today blamed the ISI of Pakistan and other foreign agencies for creating disturbance in Punjab. He said that sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib was a deep rooted conspiracy.He denied the hand of Punjab Government or Shiromani Akali Dal behind the sacrilge incidents. Sukhbir Badal was addressing a press conference here after paying obeisance ta Golden Twemple. He said that foreign agencies had attacked Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh institutions. He alleged that Congress party was behind the Sarbat Khalsa convened by radical Sikhs. The local MLA and Halqa incharge of Congress was present on the dias of Sarbat Khalsa. He said that Sarbat Khalsa was a ‘tradition’ of Sikh Panth and cant be held in fields. He said that if decisions of Sarbat Khalsa were accepted, then any Sarpanch of a village would call the Sarbat Khalsa and such people cant tomorrow remove Chief Minister from his post.
H said that Punjab Government would no allow anybody to disturb the peace of Punjab. He said that radicals Sikhs who are trying to disturb the peace were not true Sikhs. He said that they are anti-national people under the garb of Sikhs.
Badal categorically said that people of Punjab has made Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister for five terms and in every term peace, amity and communal concord had remained the top priority of his government. “This will continue to remain our top priority even now”, he added.
He said the congregation held by extremist forces was aimed at dividing society as per the aim of the Congress. Mr. Badal also questioned as to why the organizers did not pass any resolution against the Congress Party for Sikh genocide, brutal killings of thousands of Sikhs in 1984 anti-Sikh riots besides not seeking arrest of perpetrators of ’84 riots.Referring to another question . Badal clarified that there was no role of Punjab Government in the functioning of SGPC and Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He said that anti-Punjab forces were challenging the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib by creating fracas inside the Golden Temple, which was very unfortunate and highly condemnable.
