Sukhbir too keen to send his Chief Minister father on pilgrimage: Bajwa

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Congress President Mr Partap Singh Bajwa today listed amazing keenness of the Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal to send his Chief Minister father Mr Parkash Singh Badal on pilgrimage and make way for his ascendency as the main characteristic of the so called Sadbhavna rally organized by the Akali Dal, besides misleading the people. Sending Mr Badal on Yatra is the real objective of the so called Tirath Yatra Programme that has been announced by the State Government.Commenting upon the ‘Durbhavna’ rally of the Akali Dal at Bathinda today, Mr Bajwa said he had given this nomenclature as both father and son contradicted each other again today and that too in the presence of each other with the Chief Minister asserting that it was not a political or electoral rally while his son sounded the bugle for Assembly elections 2017. “Whom are they trying to befool by taking such postures as the Deputy Chief Minister ended his speech by asking the people to raise the slogan to vote for the Akali Dal in the next Assembly election to realize his dream to rule over Punjab which, in real term, can be translated as to loot Punjab”, he added. He said the real index of any leader was not just transporting people to a rally but moving among them to share their feelings in the villages the way the Congress vice-president Mr Rahul Gandhi had done during his two day tour of Bathinda and Faridkot districts. He said the Badals were too scared of moving among the people despite their super heavy security.Mr Bajwa ridiculed Mr Badal saying he said he was trying to pose as the staunchest champion of communal harmony and unity and integrity while in practice, he was among those who set Punjab aflame in 1980’s and it was the Congress Chief Minister Mr Beant Singh who restored peace after a decade and a half for which he made the supreme sacrifice. He questioned Badal on the raising of corp of one lakh Akali Marjeewaras on his behest in 1983 at Akal Takht and burning of the constitution in 1984.
