CHADIGARH : Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed the progress of various development projects associated with the 150th birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai with the delegation of Panchayat members of his native village Dhudike in Moga district.
While monitoring the progress of these projects during a meeting with the senior officers of the departments of PWD (B&R) and Cultural Affairs here at his residence this evening, the Chief Minister assured the village panchayat Dhudike that he would immediately take up the issue of getting the project related to the construction of underpass on Ajitwal-Dhudike road with the Union Ministry of Railways. Besides he also assured the village panchayat that he would also soon take up the matter of widening and strengthening of 8 KM stretch linking Dhudike with NH-95 via Churchak with the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways of India Mr. Nitin Gadkari on priority.
Conceding another major demand of the village panchayat Dhudike- the birth place of Lala Lajpat Rai to cover the entire village under sewerage network, the Chief Minister directed the Additional Chief Secretary Water Supply & Sanitation Mr. Suresh Kumar to immediately get the survey for laying sewerage and installation of Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) conducted, so that the work in this regard could be taken up under the ongoing World Bank (WB) project.
