Punjab Horticulture Deptt issues advisory to save Potato crop from late blight decease

CHANDIGARH : Due to the inclement weather the apprehension of late blight attack on the late sown Potato Crop is increasing. To protect the crop the necessary immediate precautionary treatment is to be given.The Horticulture Department had issued an advisory to the farmers in this regard. Dr. Gurkanwal Singh Director, Horticulture while talking about the imminent attack on the Potato crop said that due this attack the edges of the leaves sustain patches which turned black with the passage of time. In the morning, the bottom of the leaves there appears white fungus. He advised the farmers that on noticing such symptoms of the attack on the crop, the farmers should administer two sprays of Ridomil Gold or Curzet at M.8 or Sactin 60 WG 700 gram or Eqation Pro 200 ml per acre and after that one spray of Indofil M 45/ Atracol/ Kawach 700 gram per acre.
