350TH PARKASH UTSAV OF SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI TO BE CELEBRATED ON A GRAND SCALE

CHANDIGARH : The 350 th Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji will be celebrated as a festival with international grandeur, the objective of which would be to preach the teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji that have relevance even today in context of national and communal peace, humanity and worldwide brotherhood. The memorable festivities will continue throughout the year during which seminars will be conducted on history and philosophy of Sri Guru Sahib ji. The meaningfulness of dissemination of Guru Sahib’s ideology has increased during the present era of rising communalism and social partitions. The Punjab Cabinet has accorded the approval for constitution of a foundation for celebration of 350th Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji from 4th to 6th January, 2017 with the patronage of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
In addition to celebrations to be held at Patna Sahib, the foundation will also take decision for organizing festival programmes at other places. Punjab cabinet has approved of a special budgetary provision in the 2016-17 and immediate release of Rs. 100 Crores to the foundation for this grand programme.
Unique events from the life of 10th Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, his exclusive viewpoints, teachings and words will be preached, through these commemorations. This is a historic opportunity to educate the people of the whole world belonging to different religions about the worldwide message on humanity of Sikh Gurus through Holy Guru Granth Sahib.
Parkash Singh Badal met with union Ministers to find solutions to issues regarding the great festival. The issues pertain to giving a modern look by upgrading the surroundings of Patna Sahib and uninterrupted movement during the conducting of the event. The Chief Minister firmly believes that there is need to not only spread the awareness about the distinctiveness of Sikh religion to the other nations, but also about the preachings of the Gurus having most relevance today.
Pavilion will be put in an area of 26 acres
To make appropriate arrangements for the Sikh devotees expected to visit Patna Sahib Gurudwara, Shamianas will be put up in an area of 26 acres in Saran District of Patna on occasion of 350th year Parkash Utsav in January, 2017. These shamianas will be equipped with all modern amenities.
The land for the purpose will be identified by joint team of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and Divisional Commissioner Saran for erecting the Shamiana City. This decision was recently made during a high level meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar.
To provide better Medical facilities to devotees, the arrangements of 200 additional beds will be made in the Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Patna Sahib. The construction of chowk police station will soon be completed to maintain the Law and Order situation. CCTV cameras will be installed in Patna City in order to avoid any kind of unwarranted incidence.Railway Ministry will be requested to develop Patna ghat as a full Terminal to enable to make suitable arrangements for thousands of visiting devotees and a connecting road from Patna Sahib to Patna Ghat railway station is proposed for easy transportation.
Urban and Housing Development Department has been asked to send a request to Chairman of Railway Board for a two-lane road and broadening of the Patna Ghat railway road.Govt. is planning to give an open land area of 3200 sq. ft.on lease to Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee to make appropriate lodging arrangement for devotees. The road development department has been asked to broaden 30 roads in the vicinity to create additional space for heavy vehicles.
Takhat Shri Patna Sahib
Takhat Shri Patna Sahib, also Known as Takhat Harimandar Ji owing to being the birth place of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, is one of the most important religious places in the world. It is situated in Harimandar street of Patna city. Patna Sahib Gurudwara is considered to be centre of preaching for Sikh religion in east India. Patna Sahib is the 2nd most important and approved Takhat and is a significant place according to religious importance. A museum exhibiting many holy belongings of 10th Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji is also managed from this place that further enhances the importance of this place. The Gurudwara has the honor of the visit the 1st Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak dev Ji and 9th Guru Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. Devotees in huge numbers visit this holy place every year.
