GURDASPUR : After prolonged absence from his constituency, the Member Parliament from Gurdaspur and cine star Vinod Khanna on his brief visit here tried to kill two birds with one stone.Khanna whp came along with his wife Kavita Khanna was missing from Constituency for a long time leaving his supporters in the lurch, However on Monday last He arrived at Amristar Airport and went to attend the marriage ceremony of his Personal Assistant Shaminder’s daughter at Venice resort. Taking time out he on Tuesday visited the family members of Pathankot Terrorist attack and pay condolences with the kin of martyrs. This is all he did for his constituency in the last two years.
Khanna visited adda chakk sheriff and visited the family of Hawaldar Kulwant Singh and Jhanda Gujra martyr captain Fateh Singh and pay condolences with their families. Interacting with media persons Khanna said , that he was not well so that he cannot came earlier. He said that because of the bravery of these army men we are feeling safe and wandering safely. At this time Former minister and halqa incharge of qaadian Seva Singh Sekhwan, his wife Kavita Khanna, Kulwant Singh moti Bhatia, also accompanied with him.Requesting anonymity, a very close source to Khanna said that he was waiting for the PA Saminder daughter Marriage, where he and his wife Kavita visited. he said that Khanna could not visit the constituency personally and met the people only at his home. Today BJP workers from Gurdaspur went to meet Khanna to make aware him his responsibility towardes locals. The Congress men also slammed khanna by protesting in front of his Pathankot house for his long absence. Earlier youth congress workers and leaders also spread missing posters of three times MP Vinod Khanna. Even Khanna played the same shot that I am not keeping well so that I kept myself away from my constituency.On the other hand congress district president of Kisan Morcha Amit Mantu and Kartik wadera keep sitting in front of khanna house for four hours by demanding that he should take a list of grievances prepared by them.
