Sukhbir Badal patronising Punjab criminals, gangsters, alleges Jakhar

CHANDIGARH : Sukhbir Singh Badal Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab is under attack by Congress for allegedly shielding criminals and gangsters. Former CLP leader Sunil Jakhar has presented audio evidence of involvement Sukhbir Badal and his staff and demanded his resignation. Sunil Jakhar at a media briefing in Jalandhar played an audio clip of telephone conversation in which Jail Superintedent of Fazilka Amrik Singh is heard saying that Razy Barkhandi president SAD Malwa south zone and Satinderjit Mehta OSD of Sukhbir Badal had visited jail on June 8 last to strike compromise between liquor baron Shiv Lal Doda and real estate developed Neeraj Arora, both lodged in Fazilka jail. Jakhar said that Meta and Barkhandi are Sukhbir Badal’s right hand men and their visit to jail to facilitate compromise shows Sukhbir Badal is shielding the criminals. Doda is lodged in jail in a murder of dalit boy Bhim Tank of Abohar. Neeraj Arora is lodged for being accused in a chit fund scam. Arora and Doda scuffled in jail on June 8 over money dispute following which Sukhbir Badal’s team visited the jail. Arora has since been sifted to Ferozepur jail.As per the conversation, Sukhbir’s staff assured Doda and Arora that their money dispute will be resolved omn next visit. The convesation was made between Jail Superintendent and a journalist. Jakhar has sought to probe the autheticity of the recorded conversation and said that if it is correct then Sukhbir Badal has no right to continue in his post. Sukhbir Badal holds home portfolio. He asked the question if Sukhbir Badal is not shielding criminals, then for which purpose his aides visited the jail?Jakhar also demanded suspension of the jail superintedent for illgal entry of SAD leaders in the jail. He said that not only Sukhbir Badalm earlier Enforcement Directorate had also investigarted role of his brother-in-law and revenue minister for arranging compromise talks between two drug peddlers.
