Ignored’ by Dullo, Capt Amarinder appoints former MC President as PPCC secretary

FATGEHGARH SAHIB : Ranjit Singh Tarkhan Majra, former president of Market Committee(MC), Sirhind, who was publically ‘ignored’ by Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee(PPCC) former president Shamsher Singh Dullo during a function held in Bassi Pathana last month, was appointed as PPCC secretary by the organization president Capt Amarinder Singh.
As per letter issued to Ranjit, who is strong claimant of Congress ticket from Bassi Pathana reserve constituency, by PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh, “ I am pleased to appoint you as Secretary of the PPCC. I am sure you will put in your best efforts to strengthen the party and come up to the expectation of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi.”
It may be mentioned here that Ranjit, who is close to Amritpal Singh Tiwana, district Fatehgarh Sahib president of Jat Maha Sabha had gone to attend a function in Bassi Pathana where Shamsher Dullo was honoured after becoming Rajya Sabha member. As per reports, Dullo not only publically ignored Ranjit and Amritpal and their sitting arrangement was not made on dais in the function. They were not even allowed to speak. Dullo’s wife Harbans Kaur had unsuccessfully contested last assembly election from Bassi Pathana reserve constituency.
Amritpal Tiwana and senior office bearers of Jat Maha Sabha headed by Capt Amarinder Singh today honoured Ranjit and expressed gratitude of Capt Amarinder Singh for appointed honest, dedicated and grass root Congress worker as PPCC secretary.
