Badal already got royalty on Water by taking Plot for Sukhbir’s hotel at Gurgaon: Randhawa

CHANDIGARH : Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has charged the Punjab Chief Minister for shedding crocodile tears, and only doing theatrics over the Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal, for political motives.
Randhawa asked CM PS Badal should answer whom he is fighting for justice for Punjab. Its NDA government in Centre, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. “It’s your NDA government in all concerned stake holder states. Instead of doing dramas, you (Badal) should simply ask PM Narendra Modi to nullify/scrap the SYL Project and directs Haryana and Rajasthan to pay Rs. 80000 crore royalty. And if Modi don’t fulfill these two demands, SAD should come out of NDA government”, said Randhawa to CM.
If you didn’t do this, people will again say that you are only doing drama over SYL, as you did in past 50 years, said Randhawa. Randhawa, further said that in 1978, it was Janata Party and allies Government at Centre, Punjab and Haryana, when Badal had acquired land for SYL, as per desires of Haryana CM Devi Lal. And For this acquisition Devi Dal, not only lauded Badal in Haryana Assembly but also gifted a posh plot at Gurgaon to Badal family in 1982. With this plot, where now Orbit Resort is built, you sold interest of state and didn’t claimed any Royalty for River Waters. He said it is a fact that apart from PS Badal, Sukhbir Badal, and Surinder Kaur Badal, there was a fourth partner in Orbit resort, however, still the Badal family has not given him share in it.
