CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) today announced political alliance with Lok Insaaf Party(LIP) of Bains Brothers of Ludhiana and decided to contest 2017 assembly elections on the common agenda of defeating SAD-BJP alliance and the Congress party.
With this development, the Awaaz-e-Punjab forum of which Bains brothers, Balwinder Singh Bains and Simarjit Singh Bains were part, also ceased to exist. Navjot Singh Sidhu had formed Awaaz-e-Punjab with four MLAs including Bains brothers and former SAD MLA from Jalandhar cantt Pargat Singh. Pargat Singh is also expected to join Congress,it is learnt. Sanjay Singh AAP general secretary and incharge of Punjab unit at a joint press conference with Bains brothers here today announced the modalities of the alliance between AAP and LIP in the presence of Gurpreet Singh Waraich Punjab Convener of AAP. Sanjay Singh said that Bains brothers were since long fighting against the drug and mining mafia and it is also common agenda of two parties to oust SAD-BJP alliance and Congress. He said that SAD and Congress had colluded with each other to loot people of Punjab. He said that alliance with LIP would strengthen the fight against corrupt political regime and it would be a big boost for the morale of people fighting against mafia culture. Sanjay Singh reiterated, in reply to a question, AAP fully support the case of Punjab for river waters. He said that they would not allow any water to flow out of Punjab. He also questioned media persons who asked for Kejriwal’s stand. He said nobody asked Rahul Gandhi and Narender Modi to clear their stand on river waters, then why trying to involve Kejriwal ? Gurpreet Singh Waraich while welcomed the Bains brothers and said that both parties had same ideology and it would prevent division of anti-incumbency votes. Taking dig at PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh, AAP convener said that Congress was inviting left over leaders of other aprties into its fold. He said that in real terms Capt Amarinder Singh has become a scrap dealer who is runing here and there to collect dejected leaders of otehr parties. He said that Sarwan Singh Phillaur and Avinash Chander both former SAD MLAs who joined Congress had record of their liason with the drug dealers. He said that allowing leaders of other parties had already sparked infighting among the Congress leaders.
