Badal from Lambi, Sukhbir Jalalabad

Chandigarh : The SAD today announced that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son, Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal, who is also SAD president, would contest from their traditional seats of Lambi and Jalalabad, respectively. There was speculation that Sukhbir could be shifted to Lambi. The candidature of the two leaders was declared on the occasion of Parkash Utsav at Patna Sahib.
It is the fifth time that Badal would be contesting from Lambi, a constituency he has nurtured since 1997. He has been elected MLA from Lambi four times in a row. Sukhbir will be contesting from Jalalabad for the third time — he won the seat during the 2009 byelection after Sher Singh Ghubaya resigned on becoming MP and then again in the 2012 Assembly elections.
