Cycle Symbol War: Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh at Election Commission doorstep

New Delhi, Jan 9 : The Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav along with Amar Singh and Shivpal Singh Yadav reached the Election Commission of India office to present his claim over the party symbol Cycle. Akhilesh Yadav will meet the Election Commission at 2:30 PM as reported to stake his claims to the symbol.The two warring factions of the Samajwadi Party have been fighting for the Cycle symbol since Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled his son and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav from the party for 6 years which was followed by Akhilesh dethroning Mulayam as the Chief of the party at his (Akhilesh’s) National Convention held on January 1.
In next 24 hours, it will be clear as to who will get the cycle symbol for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017.
In other news, the Congress party is reportedly concerned about their alliance with the Akhilesh party. As per the reports, a new party symbol, if taken up by Akhilesh Yadav for his party, would not gather much attention from the voters in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017. As per Congress, the people of Uttar Pradesh better identify with the cycle symbol and taking up a new symbol might be a bad idea to go with this election season.
