CHANDIGARH: Sukhpal Singh Khaira former Congress MLA has made a complaint against Chief Ministert Parkash Singh Badal Chief Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar of Punjab and Haryana High Court for plundering the public exchequer to promote their business interests. He has also requested the Chief Justice to treat it as Public Interest Litigation.In his complaint sent on May 26, 2015, Khaira has stated about the grlaring misuse of official authority by the above stated persons, to promote and benefit their huge vested business empire at the cost of public exchequer.
Needless to mention, the Badal family has large stakes in the businesses of transport, hospitality, real estate, media, power, bulk liquor etc. The said family has very cleverly cornered a lion’s share of governance in Punjab, by allocating 28 of 55 government departments/ministries with self and immediate relatives Bikram Singh Majithia and Adesh Partap Singh Kairon. The said extended Badal family has been tailor making policies and framing rules to promote their above stated business ventures for the last more than eight years, which is a clear cut case of conflict of interest with the state of Punjab.
