Islamabad, Aug. 18:In a counter move, Pakistan summoned India’s Deputy High Commissioner to complain against the alleged “unprovoked” firing by the Indian forces along the border in Jammu and Kashmir. The summon was issued a day after India summoned Pakistan’s High Commissioner Abdul Basit registering strong protest against continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan rangers along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.According to reports, Pakistan registered a strong protest against “unprovoked ceasefire violations” by the Indian troops at the Line of Control in Kotli Sector. Pakistan alleged that three civilians were killed and 15 other left injured in the ceasefire violation.“The Deputy High Commissioner was conveyed that the Indian side must investigate the incident, share findings of the investigations with Pakistan, instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire, in letter and spirit, and maintain peace on the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement issued by Pakistan officials read. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has summoned the Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in the wake of the incessant and unprovoked shelling and firing at the border villages and towns of Jammu and Kashmir from the side of the Pakistani Army.According to Indian government, Pakistan violated ceasefire 192 times along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir till July 26 this year while Pakistan claims that Indian forces violated ceasefire 70 times in the past two months.
