11 districts of Punjab to have information kiosks

CHANDIGARH : The Punjab Government has decided to install ‘Information kiosks’ in 11 districts of the state in order to provide the information of welfare schemes to scheduled castes persons .The portal would be bilingual and would provide comprehensive information to the citizen.Punjab Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Rajesh Bagha said that process has been started in this regard. These ‘Information Kiosks’ would be installed soon at Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Saheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Mansa districts of the state.Bagha further said that the motive of this project was to provide information about loan schemes and skill knowledge of 17 subjects through audio video technique launched by the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation by bilingual (english and punjabi) multimedia e-subject matter and portal.Bagha further said that with the help of c-deck under this project Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation would install 22 touch screen ‘Information kiosks’ in all these 11 districts.
