Punjab and Haryana High Court rejects plea for CBI probe into infamous synthetic drug racket

CHANDIGARH: Punjab and Haryana High Court today rejected the plea of Bashinder Singh father of drug lord Jagdiash Bhola to hold CBI probe into the synthetic drug racket. Bhola now in custody of Mumbai Police had named Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia as kingpin of the racket.The High Court bench headed by Justice Suya Kant also rejected eight more petitions filed for CBI probe into the drug racket which made headlines of newspapers through out the year and political parties also launched agitation. The bench directed to form a committee fo three senior officers of Punjab Police G. Nageshwar Rao, Ishwar Singh and B Neerja all IPS officers. The committee will look into the whole case and submit report to High Court by December 31, 2015.The court also rejected the bail of Paramjit Singh Chahal and Maninder Singh Bittu Aulakh in one case registered by Banur Police and granted bail to Aulakh in one case registered by Jalandhar police. Another accused Dev Behal was granted bail in a case registered by Fatehgarh Sahib police.Youth Akali Dal leader Maninder Singh Bittu Aulakh and businessman Jagjit Singh Chahal both hailing from Amritsar were arrested in November 2014 and huge quantity of syntehtic drugs was recovered. They were arrested on the identification of Jagdish Bhola a dismissed cop of Punjab Police. The whole racket of synthetic drugs came to light with the arrest of Anoop Singh a NRI who was arrested with 26 kg of heroin from Zirakpur by the Fatehgarh Sahib Police.Chahal who had pharmaceuitical factory in Baddi in Himachal Pradesh allegedly diverted ephedrine and pseudoephedrine chemicals to manufacture ICE and Esctasy drugs which are also called pafrty drugs. Bhola got supplies from Chahal and he allegedly used Punjab Government vehicle with beacon atop and security of Bittu Aulakh to smuggle syntehtic drugs.
