AAP MLAs detained while on their way to Capt’s house to protest

Chandigarh, September 4 : Chandigarh Police on Monday took around 100 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including MLAs, in preventive custody as they were on their way to protesting in front of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s residence here. They were taken to the Sector 17 police station.
The protesters were led by party leaders Bhagwant Mann and Sukhpal Singh Khaira. Police also used water cannons to disperse them at the MLAs’ hostel gate. The MLAs and all office-bearers of the party were to hold a dharna in front of the official residence of the Chief Minister, against the city centre and mining scams.Earlier, Leader of Opposition Khaira had asked Amarinder to either quit or hand over investigation in the city centre scam to the CBI. As the CM did neither, the AAP had decided to hold the dharna against Amarinder.
