AAP predicts clean sweep in Punjab, alleges secret pact between SAD, Congress

CHANDIGARH : Aam Aadmi party (AAP) has predicted clean sweep in Punjab assembly elections in 2017 as the people of Punjab have taken a conscious decision to dump both the ruling SAD-BJP alliance and Congress party-both of them having a secret pact to help each other.
The party leaders at political conference during Holla Mohalla on Wednesday claimed that attempts by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to revive the SYL Canal issue would boomrang and people would teach a lesson to Akalis for destroying prosporous Punjab by creating a drug heaven.
Sucha Singh Chhotepur state convener of AAP said that Badal was expecting to cash on SYL issue by raking passions of farmers and may go for early poll. Badal is preparing ground to sacrifice his government on the SYL issue. The Akali Dal and BJP are ruling in Punjab and at center and the BJP has its government in Haryana and BJP is helping SAD to rake up the controversy over the Canal. Akalis had never even discussed SYL canal issue during noine years of its rule in state.
AAP national spokesman Sanjay Singh alleged that SAD may create communal tension in Punjab to win the elections. He cautioned people of Punjab to stay alert from nefarious designs of Badal family. They can go to any extent to win the elections. He however said that AAP would sweep the polls whatever may be the circumstances. He said that Badal has fake sympagthy for the farmers. His government has not compensated the farmers for damage of their crops whereas Delhio Government led by Arvind Kejriwal had given Rs.50,000 per acre compensation to farmers. AAP MP Bhagwant Mann said that farmers in Punjab were committing suicides due to indebtness but Badal family is busy in hatching conspiracies to win the elections. He said that Badal had no concern with the plight of farming community. He said that lip sympathy would not giver healing touch to the farmers. He said that Badal and Capt Amarinder Singh were showing arrogance and people of Punjab do not like arrogant persons. AAP Spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that Badal and Capt Amarinder Singh both are lying on the issue of SYL Canal. Both parties have double standards.He said that Congress was in power when Punjab gave away 75 percent of Punjab water to Haryana and SAD never objected to it. Cap Amarinder Singh acompanied Indira Gandhi when she came to lay foundation stone of SYL Canal, he added.
