CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has suspended two of its Members of Parliament(MPs) for anti-party acitivites. The suspended MPs Dharamvir Gandhi(Patiala) and Harinder Singh Khalsa have accused AAP Convener and Deli Chief Minister for damaging party in Punjab.
Gandhi and Khalsa had yesterday held a parallel political conference at Baba Bakala in Amritsar district on the eve of Rakhar Puniya festival were APP had also organised the conference. For the last few months Gandhi and Khalsa were openly speaking against the party leadership and blamed that ‘outsiders’ are interfering’ in the working of state unit. The AAP leadership has reports that some of the party functionaries in Punjab have compromised with the ruling SAD-BJP alliance and are conspiring to split the party before assembly elections in 2017.The decision to suspend Gandhi and Khalsa was taken by the political affairs committee of party wit the consent of Kejriwal. It is believed that Khalsa and Gandhi have aligned with the Yogender Yadav who was expelled from AAP.Gandhi and Khalsa alleged tat Kejriwal had sold out the party to Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD). The PAC has also issued show cause notice to Gandhi and Khalsa to explain why disciplinary action is not taken against them.
AAP has four MPs, all from Punjab. Two other MPs Bhagwant Mann from Sangrur and Sadhu Singh from Faridkot are loyal to Kejriwal. They addressed the political conference yesterday alongwith state party convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur and national secretary Sanjay Singh. Chhotepur and Sanjay Singh had yesterday warned both rebel MPs to refrain from anti-pary activities.Earlier, the party had expelled Dr. Daljit Singh party candidate for Lok Sabha in Amritsar, Bhai Baldep Singh party candidate from Khadoor Sahib and Jyoti Mann party candidate from Jalandhar in 2014 Lok Sabha poll.
