After Shani Shingnapur victory, Trupti Desai to head for Trimbakeshwar temple

Pune, Apr. 21 : With women finally being allowed to enter the inner sanctum of the Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik, Bhumata Brigade activist Trupti Desai said on Thursday that she will also offers prayers at the temple tomorrow and asserted that she was unfazed by the threat of protestors and will continue her struggle of equality for women at places of worship.
“We will enter the inner sanctum of the Trimbakeshwar temple tomorrow along with our other members. Our battle that begun in Shani Shingnapur, has brought us here to our third victory. This is an epitome of women empowerment,” Desai told ANI.When asked about any possible obstruction from the trustees of the temple, she said that she had no idea about it but added that they will be under the mandatory protection by the police, so there should not be any problem.”We will speak to the Nasik collector asking him to increase the time of worship for the female devotees as one hour is simply too less. They must give another hour to women to worship to their heart’s content,” Desai said.
Talking about protests from locals in the area, the activist expressed confidence that her movement would carry on no matter how large the impediment was to her cause.
“Yes I am sure there will be protests. Normally it is the locals who protest. There are always one per cent of women who pose objections but the 99 per cent women in this nation are supporting us, so our revolution will continue,” Desai added. Earlier, a group of three women activists of the Swarajya Sanghatana led by Vanita Gutte, was allowed to enter the Trimbakeshwar temple amidst tight security.
