Akal Takht Jathedar Meets Prof. Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar

AMRITSAR SAHIB : Sri Akal Takht Sahib appointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh on Monday met Sikh political prisoner Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar who was shifted from Delhi’s Tihar jail to Amritsar jail few days ago, at Swami Vivekanand Hospital here. Prof. Bhullar is receiving medical treatment in this hospital.Giani Gurbachan Singh inquired about health condition of Prof. Bhullar and did ardas for his well being. Jathedar said that he would make effort for his release. He demanded the Sikh political prisoners who have completed their jail terms, be released, so that they could spend respectable life.The Jathedar said the politicians should not resort to issuing statements against the release of Sikh detainees adding, “There is no threat to the peace in the state due to their release. The political leaders should not hold ill-will against anybody and let the law of land take its own course. Prof. Bhullar has been shifted from Tihar jail to Amritsar jail as per the legal procedure and nobody should play politics over the issue. Law is equal to all and we must respect it. Nobody should hamper the legal procedure.”He also presented Siropao to Prof. Bhullar’s wife Bibi Navneet Kaur Bhullar.
