Akali leader suspended after he slaps senior, snatched AK 47 of his gunman

AMRITSAR: Akali leader Navdeep Singh Goldy close to Punjab Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today tossed off the turban of Senior Deputy Mayor of Amritsar Municipal Corporation AVtar Singh and fled away after snatching the Ak-47 assault rifle of his gunman. Goldy was suspended from party late in the evening.Both the Akali leaders had assembled in the District level meeting with regard to the development of certain areas of the city. During the meeting both the leaders indulged in heated arguments led to scuffle and during melee, the turban of Mr. Avtar Singh was fell down on the floor. Entire incident happened in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissoner Tajinderpal Singh Sandhu.After the incident, supporters of Avtar Singh cordoned off Goldy and flexed their muscles on him.Goldy in order to save himself, snatched the AK 47 rifle of his gunman and fled away from the scene while leaving his SUV car behind.Police Commissioner Amar Singh Chahal confirming the incident said that complaint has been received against the Goldy for snatching the AK 47 Assault rifle from his gunman and necessary action would be initiated against him.It may be added here that earlier Goldy was with the Congress party and in the last assembly election he had entered in the SAD party. Goldy’s wife is also PCS officer and posted in Amritsar as District Transport officer.
