Amrinder not even ‘Congress Da Captain’: Bhagwant Mann

CHANDIGARH : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today criticized Congress vice-president, Rahul Gandhi for keeping mum on SYL issue and termed it double speak of congress party. Aam Aadmi Party, Campaign Committee head and Sangrur MP, Bhagwant Mann while addressing the press at Sangrur asked Rahul to clear his stand whether he and Congress leadership is with Haryana or Punjab on the issue of SYL.
“Even if Rahul is not aware about the importance of this issue, so called ‘Paaniya Da Rakha’, Amrinder should have told him that construction of SYL will left Punjab waterless.” asked Mann. “Actually it was Mrs. Indra Gandhi who initiated the process of SYL and Captain started the construction work from Kapuri. How can they now run away from the history” added Mann.
Commenting on the Prashant Kishor’s election campaign strategy to project Captain Amrinder Singh as ‘Punjab Da Captain’ (Captain of Punjab), Mann said that “He is not even Congress’s Captain yet as Rahul Gandhi has said that it is not confirmed that Amrinder would be the CM candidate in Punjab.” “Earlier Amrinder arm-twisted Rahul Gandhi and forced to declare him Congress chief in Punjab and now it is Rahul’s turn to pay in same currency.” Mann Added.
Criticizing Badal Government for Rs. 1800 crore food scandal, Mann said that the clarification given by Food and Civil Supply minister, Adesh Partap Singh Kairon is nothing but a ‘bundle of lies’. “How can you commit the crime and then give clean chit to yourself even without any inquiry? Let the RBI investigation report come and then the people will come to know that how the government looted their money in the name of providing food to the residents of Punjab.” Mann said.
Mann said that he had long back written to the finance minister Arun Jaitly about the financial indiscipline happening in the Punjab and the funds of centre government schemes are being wasted on sangat darshan and other useless programs of Punjab Government. He said that Adesh Partap has himself admitted that Rs. 900 Crore of ‘Aata-Dal’ Scheme were used on another scheme of Punjab government.
Criticizing Punjab Government lead by Akali government, Mann Said that the government has no specific policy to run the state and in absence of that Akalis always try to create issue by playing with the feelings of people. On demolition of Piao at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi, Mann cleared that the act was done by BJP lead MCD and AAP has nothing to do with the demolition. He said that if Sukhbir Badal thinks that the act of demolition is like the attack on Sri Harimandir Sahib, then he should break ties with BJP and Harsimrat should resign from the minister ship in Modi government.
Speaking about the ticket distribution process of AAP, Mann told that the workers of the party will choose the candidate. He said that the manifesto of the party will be drafted by taking opinion of the common people and it will be treated as a sacred document.
