Anti- Drug awareness Seminar organized at Rayat Bahra University

MOHALI : Rayat Bahra University School of Engineering and Technology organized a seminar on Anti-Drug Awrareness. Dr. Kaustubh Sharma, Zonal Director Narcotics Control Bureau was the chief guest and the key note speaker. Dr. Virender Rihani, Dean of Engineering & Technology welcomed Dr. Kaustubh Sharma, IPS of 2001 batch. He shared concerns about the use of drugs by the youthDr. Kaustubh Sharma spoke about the narcotic terrorism which is killing our youth.
He talked about the serious consequences of Drug Addiction on the individual, family and the society and urged upon all the stakeholders to help in discouraging this menace by spreading awareness about Drug Addiction. He also emphasised the need for nurturing moral and ethical values among children. Dr.Sharma’s address was followed by the address of S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University and Chairman Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes.
S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra said that the problem of Drug Addiction is required to be addressed very seriously and effectively and all the stakeholders need to contribute their efforts in this regard. He urged the audience to work in unison to uproot this evil from the society. Prof. (Dr) Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor Rayat Bahra University urged that the youth who have taken to drugs should not be ostracized, instead a loving approach can pull them out of this quagmire of drugs. He felt the need for concerted efforts to organise de-addiction.
