At least eight killed in Quetta blast, targets security forces’ vehicle

Quetta : At least eight people, including a Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, has been reportedly killed and more than a dozen others were wounded in the powerful blast targeting a security forces’ vehicle near the premises of the heavily guarded Quetta district courts on Saturday.Dawn reported that the blast partially damaged the security forces’ vehicle and shattered the window panes of nearby buildings.Balochistan province’s Home Secretary Akbar Durrani said that it has not yet been ascertained whether it was an improvised explosive device or a suicide bomb attack.Rescue and emergency teams reached the blast site as the explosion was heard in a wide area.An emergency was declared in all nearby hospitals including civil hospital Quetta.The province has been experiencing incident violence and targeted killings since more than a decade.
