Bailey guides Australia to seven-wicket win over India at Gabba

Brisbane : George Bailey smashed an unbeaten 76 to help his side claim a seven-wicket win against India in the second match of the five-match series here at the Gabba on Friday.Chasing the target of 309 runs, Australia reached the score in 49 overs, thanks to brilliant display by openers Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh for thumping 71-run each. Skipper Steve Smith also contributed significant 46 runs in his side’s innings.Bailey, who smashed six boundaries and a six, was well supported by Glenn Maxwell (unbeaten at 26) to provide hosts with a victory.For India, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja could only manage to claim one wicket each.Earlier, opting to bat first, India scored 308-8, with Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane contributed 124 and 89 respectively.Rohit Sharma was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant knock.
