Banned Blatter slams media for trying to ‘kill’ him

London : Banned FIFA president Sepp Blatter has issued a stringing rebuke to media, saying that they had tried to kill him amid the ongoing corruption probe within the football governing body.Blatter, who is facing an eight-year ban from FIFA, insisted that it was quite disappointing to see the media reaction as he was not responsible for the wrongdoings by the members of the executive committee. The 79-year-old, however, admitted that he regrets the FIFA’s inadequate selection of its executive committee members, the Guardian reported. Blatter also revealed that allies had abandoned him following his eight-year suspension from FIFA and that he only had a support of suspended UEFA president Michel Platini by his side. Platini, along with his FIFA counterpart Blatter, have been serving a ban from all football-related activities over claims that the former had received a ‘ disloyal payment ‘ of 1.35 million pounds from the outgoing president in 2011.Both Platini and Blatter later refused all the allegations levied against them, saying that the payment was made following an oral agreement between the pair.
