Bapu Surat Singh’s Supporters Call Upon Sikh Orgs to Meet at Fatehgarh Sahib on Jan 1

LUDHIANA : Bandi Singhs Rihai Sangharsh Committee has announced to hold an international Panthik convention at Fatehgarh Sahib on January 1, 2016. The committee was constituted to spearhead Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle for the release of political prisoners. The theme of the convention would be to deliberate upon the future course of action for the release of political prisoners if the Government does not stay true to its word for release of these prisoners.
Punjab Government Promises Swift Action
The meeting has been called as the Punjab Government has announced to release additional Singhs in the coming days. After facing growing pressure from the hunger protest by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, it has already released Bhai Hardeep Singh and Bhai Wariyam Singh, in addition to having transferred Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar and Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera to Punjab.
At the Fatehgarh Sahib ‘Shaheedi Jor Mela’ held to commemorate the martyrdom of Chotte Sahibzade, it was resolved by various Panthik organizations that if the Government continues to divert attention from Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle, they would announce future course of action at Fatehgarh Sahib on January 1.
Fatehgarh Sahib Convention Will Decide when Bapu Surat Singh Will End Protest
Talking with Sikh24, Bhai Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi (Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s son) informed that the Fatehgarh Sahib convention would thoroughly deliberate upon the final goals of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle. “While the Government has announced it will release additional prisoners in the coming days, the convention will deliberate upon the Singhs who must be released before the hunger strike is concluded,” he said.
He appealed prominent Sikh organizations from across the World to send their intellectuals and thinkers to attend the convention at Fatehgarh Sahib on January 1, 2016.
