Barack Obama dines with Justin Trudeau after a stirring speech in Montreal

Montreal : Former President of the United States Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met in Montreal on Tuesday night and dined together. Reportedly, the world leaders discussed how to get young people active in their communities.  Earlier in the day, Obama had delivered a speech at an event in Montreal. Since leaving office, Obama has been traveling and working on his memoir. A picture of the meeting of the duo at west-end eatery was posted by PM Trudeau. “How do we get young leaders to take action in their communities? Thanks @BarackObama for your visit & insights tonight in my hometown,” the prime minister tweeted. If reports are to be believed, the pair dined at Liverpool House near the Atwater Market. Earlier in the day, Obama warned of illiberal threats to postwar global order in a stirring speech in Montreal.
It was Obama’s first visit to Canada since leaving office in January. During his speech, Obama addressed the Paris Accord, saying it still has a chance despite the “temporary absence of American leadership.” “Obviously I’m disappointed with the current American administration decision to put out of Paris,” Obama said. “We’re going to have to act with more urgency. I’m looking forward to the United States being a leader and not just on the sidelines going forward.”
