Patna, September 5: The Election Commission of India is likely to release the dates for the Bihar elections by next week, according to sources. Media reports also suggested that the elections might be held in 4-5 phases. The tenure of the current Legislative Assembly of Bihar is set to expire on November 29, 2015. The Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Janata Dal (United) had announced to fight elections together under the leadership of the current chief minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar. The plan was to form a united front against the BJP lead NDA alliance, as the Janata Parivar which includes Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (Secular), Indian National Lok Dal and Samajwadi Janata Party (Rashtriya), also joined by the Indian National Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party. Opposing the Janata Parivar will be the Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA front is fighting election alongside the Lok Janshakti Party , the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party and Hindustani Awam Morcha.
