BJP attacks Congress over Gauri Lankesh murder

New Delhi, September 8 : The BJP on Friday launched a blistering attack on the Congress over the murder of activist-journalist Gauri Lankesh. Senior minister Ravi Shankar Prasad took to the BJP official platform to question Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah and Left-wing sympathisers on Lankesh’s brother Indrajeet Lankesh openly blaming Maoists for the murder.
Prasad also questioned the “anti-Right wing” on their “silence” over the “killings and violence against RSS workers” in Kerala. “The hypocrisy and double standards of these so-called liberals need to be exposed,” he said. “We hope that Congress government in Karnataka will honestly probe the murder as the biggest question is why she was not given security despite the knowledge of threats from Naxalites whom she was said to be trying to reform, ” added Prasad in a strong attack against the Siddharamaiah-led Congress government and Left parties.
The political fight over the Gauri Lankesh murder escalated after some recent “abusive” tweets against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
