Brothers arrested in murder case of Lovely university’s B Tech student

Phagwara, December 9 : Police on Friday night arrested two brothers over the murder of Ashish Kumar, a B Tech student of Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara.
The two, Rahul and Ashok Kumar, were arrested from near Kot Rani, while four others are still at large. They were arrested under the Section 302/452/148/149 of the IPC.Ashish Kumar, was murdered while his friend Aman Kumar sustained serious injuries when they were attacked by six persons with sharp-edged weapons in Udham Singh Nagar on Thursday night. Ashish belonged to Meghalaya while Aman is a resident of Bihar.The police said seven students, all studying BTech at the university, were celebrating the birthday of their friend Rishav at a paying guest accommodation when their neighbours objected to the celebrations at midnight and asked the students to stop the loud noise. When the students refused to stop, the assailants attacked them with wooden rods and allegedly pelted them with stones. Ashish and Aman were taken to the local Civil Hospital where doctors declared Ashish brought dead while Aman’s condition was stated to be serious.
