CBI registers FIR in Sikh holy book sacrilege cases in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: In pursuance of Punjab Government notification No.7/551/13-2H4/619055/1 dated 9-11-2015, the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India issued notification No. 228/52/2015-AVD-II dated 5-11-2015 transferring to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation of cases in FIR No. 63 dated 2-6-2015, FIR No. 117 dated 25-9-2015 and FIR No. 128 dated 12-10-2015 of Police Station Baza Khana, district Faridkot. Disclosing this here today the spokesman of Punjab police informed that the CBI has re-registered these FIRs as Regular Cases (RC) and a team of CBI officers would be visiting Faridkot shortly in connection with the investigation of the above-mentioned cases. Punjab Police will provide the required logistical support and offer its co-operation to the CBI in conducting the investigations, the spokesman added.
