Congress adamant on V.K. Singh’s ouster

New Delhi, Dec.7 : The Congress party on Monday continued their protest against Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd.) V.K. Singh over his dog analogy and demanded his removal from the Cabinet. The Congress leaders staged a protest next to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi outside the Parliament, demanding General (Retd.) Singh’s ouster from the Cabinet.”We have already demanded strict action by Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the BJP leaders for making irresponsible statements on many issues, including on Dalits, and especially V. K. Singh should be removed from the Cabinet for his ‘dog remark’ on Dalits. Our ‘dharna’ was to only demand the removal of V.K Singh from the Cabinet,” Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad told the media here.Another Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia also demanded action against the former army chief and said mere speeches made by the government in the Parliament is not enough.”We are raising this issue as it has a lot to do with the behaviour of a Central Government minister against a particular community and against Indians per se.Therefore, we demand that action be taken by the government and mere speeches in Parliament is not good enough,” Scindia told the media here.
