Dal Khalsa to submit confessions made by Pinki cat to UN

Amritsar : Dal Khalsa has decided to submit shocking revelations made by former police official-cum-cat Gurmit Singh Pinki into blatant violations of human rights to UN seeking international probe into extra-judicial killings in Punjab during militancy.Taking a dig at Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for pinning faith in human rights abuser DGP Sumedh Singh Saini , the Dal Khalsa said except Badals every one in Punjab knew what police renegade Gurmeet Singh Pinki has revealed about his one-time master. In a statement, party head H S Dhami and spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said, “Not only he but many top cops of that time, some of whom are still enjoying plump posts in the present dispensation, were involved in extra-judicial killings, extortions, pocketing rewards, misuse of secret funds and killings of those who were unconnected with the movement”. Pinki’s confession had vindicated what the people at large have been crying but largely ignored by civil society and international community. They said while exposing the tyrannical system and his handlers, Pinki had confessed that he too was effective part of the state’s killing machinery operating outside the gambit of law. They pointed out that Parkash Singh Badal returned to power in 1997 with a promise to establish truth commission to look into the human rights abuses and bring guilty cops to book but he did contrary to it. “Badal after assuming power forgot all promises and instead promoted those who were responsible for rights violations. Ironically, Badal is sitting on the inquiry report of ADGP B P Tiwari in the murder case of former jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaonke”. They said the horrifying details provided by Pinki have again provided opportunity to Senior Badal to fulfil his forgotten promise. They took a dig at Congress president Captain Amrinder Singh who has promised to hold enquiry into what Pinki has revealed if voted to power. “Amrinder remained in power from 2002 to 2007 but he deliberately ignored to touch this sensitive chord. He too elevated S S Virk as DGP who admitted that they used criminals and arrested militants as renegades to counter the Sikh struggle”. Comparing Virk with Saini, they said there was hardly difference between the degree of repression unleashed by both. They regretted politicians speak in different languages when they in power and when out of it. The Dal Khalsa leader were of the view that human rights abuses were not random but matter of state policy. He said it was for this reason that no one has been persecuted by so-called long arm of the law. They said their group would send the shocking details revealed by Pinki to UN office, Geneva seeking international probe into the extra-judicial killings and action against the perpetrators.
