Darbar Sahib Ragis Set To Launch Political Campaign Against SGPC

CHANDIGARH : Sri Darbar Sahib hazoori ragi Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala who was transferred to Gurdwara Patshahi Nauvi Zind for opposing the creation of the post of chief secretary within the SGPC, is all set to embark a political campaign against the apex Gurdwara body.
Bhai Wadala has started making efforts to form a new group for elections against the SGPC.  Some other Darbar Sahib hazoori ragis who have opposed Badal’s Jathedars and the SGPC, are also reportedly accompanying him.According to recent sources, he conducted a secret meeting of his organization Sikh Sadbhawna Dal in a Gurdwara Sahib in Jalandhar, which was also attended by two more hazoori ragis who were suspended by the SGPC authorities for opposing Badal’s Jathedar, Gurbachan Singh on the issue of pardoning Sirsa based cultist.
Sources say, Bhai Wadala has named this campaign as Gurdwara Sudhar Lehar. He wants to form a new organization against the issues of corruption, indiscipline and a lack of parchar (preaching) of Sikhi, within the SGPC. He also paid some visits to other countries to appeal to the wider Sikh Diaspora to cooperate with the cause. He is also in touch with some prominent personalities of Sant Samaj and SGPC’s members and officials who carry a good reputation. Some SGPC members, Dhadis and preachers have reportedly gotten ready to follow the path led by Bhai Wadala.In the coming days, a major leader associated with the SGPC who is based in Haryana may be included in the Sikh Sadbhawna Dal, in a press conference at Chandigarh. Sources further say that arrangements are also being made to hold a political conference at Sri Anandpur Sahib on Hola Mohalla festival, during which the agenda of the new organization may be declared. The agenda will be to make the SGPC free from corruption and create an atmosphere of Sewa and Dharam Parchar. Bhai Wadala is identifying candidates for the elections and a formal announcement in this regard will be made as soon as the supreme court makes any final decision about the general house of the SGPC.
