Delhi woman named her child ‘Uber’ after giving birth in cab

New Delhi : The on-line taxi service provider company Uber who was in the news for all the wrong reason have finally one thing to cheer off after a Delhi based woman decided to name her baby boy after the company Uber after delivering in the taxi. The driver of Uber also helped the mother in delivering the child. According to reports, the mother hired the cab after ambulance failed to reach at her house. Shahnawaz, the driver who attended the call said that the woman was living in Devli in South Delhi and was asking to carry her to a government hospital. The women was accompanied by two other women.Shahnawaz first suggested the woman to call an ambulance. However when he was informed that they were unable to get ambulance, Shahnawaz then decided to take them to the hospital, reported Times of India. Read Shahnawaz drove the trio towards Safdarjung Hospital, but due to a huge labour pain he had to stop in between. The trio converted the cab into labour room and helped woman deliver the baby.“I pulled out the towels from the seats and poured some drinking water into a bowl. The child was born within minutes and I was really happy to see that he was responding,” Shahnawaz said to TOI. Soon after delivering the baby, Shahnawaz then rushed woman to the Safdurjung Hospital’s emergency department on a stretcher. Doctors at the hospital were shocked after finding that the delivery was done in the cab and admitted both mother and the baby at the ICU for routine check up. Shahnawaz reportedly said, “this was the happiest moment of my life”. After the entire incident, the family of baby boy decided to name the boy after the company Uber.
