Despite Sedition Chargers, 2015 Sarbat Khalsa Organizers To Hold Gathering Again This Year

SRI FATEHGARH SAHIB : Next Sarbat Khalsa may be called near the festival of Visakhi this year but its date and venue have not been finalized yet, revealed United Akali Dal (UAD) leader Gurdeep Singh Bathinda. Bathinda said that the decision in this regard could only be taken by Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, acting Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala and Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal.“The nation will follow what the directions of Jathedars will be regarding Sarbat Khalsa. However, the high profile event may be finalized within a month or two and all the panthik organizations who are dedicated for the Panth will be invited for it, as the event will not be from any single organization.”Replying to a query about involvement of Dal Khalsa and Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani), he said these organizations had sacrificed a lot for Panth and their suggestions regarding the event will be considered. He said they would consult the matter with SAD (A) president Simranjit Singh Mann as well.Commenting on the JNU protests, Gurdeep Singh Bathinda condemned the case of sedition registered by the Indian government against the student leaders and civil society activist in India. He said that these students were facing the same fate as the organizers of Sarbat Khalsa.Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib, had earlier directed the Akal Takht Sahib Punj Piare to oversee the efforts for Sarbat Khalsa 2016.
