Despite ‘threat’ NGO adamant to buy Dawood’s Bhendi Bazaar property

Mumbai, Dec. 5 : Former journalist S. Balakrishnan, who is associated with NGO Desh Sabha Samiti and participating in the bidding of a property of Dawood Ibrahim, today claimed to have received threats from underworld don’s aide Chota Shakeel in the intervening night of December 3-4.Balakrishnan claimed that he had gone to inspect Hotel Afroz in Bhendi Bazaar, one of the seven properties of Dawood, prior to bidding, where Central officers on duty refused to show him the hotel premises from inside even as he insisted for it.”Somehow the media come to know about it and took my byte, which was aired. Chota Shakeel must have come to know about all these from news channels following which he shot off an SMS to me,” he said.Revealing the content of the message, Balakrishnan said: ” Chota Shakeel asked me ‘Tumko kya ho gaya hai….tum khair to ho…ye kya boli kya tum karnewale hain’ (sic) (what has happened to you…are you all right..why this auction and all….) He is carrying out orders from Dawood Ibrahim.”
