Disney Japan sorry for insensitive tweet on Nagasaki bombing anniversary

Washington DC, Aug 11 : Walt Disney Japan has apologised after one their Japanese language tweet was criticised by fans on the social media.According to sources, the company tweeted an unfortunate message, which read, “A very merry unbirthday to you!” on the 70th anniversary of the U.S. bombing of Nagasaki, E! Online reported.However, sources said that the Japanese translation portrayed something more along the lines of, “Congratulations on a not special day.”Fans immediately reacted to the odd tweet, with one loyal follower asking, “Why are you offering congratulations, Disney-san?”The account quickly deleted the tweet and posted a regret message the following day, explaining that they wanted to offer deep apologies for causing discomfort and that they promised to be more mindful of their tweets.Every year, Japan holds ceremonies around the country to mourn the loss of nearly 75,000 people on August 9, 1945, three days after the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.
