Ferozepur :4 persons have been booked for tempering with ‘Dope Test’ reports during the recent recruitment drive in the Punjab Police. On a complaint from Dr.Gurmeet Kaur, Asstt. Professor, Psychology Department, Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital, Faridkot – who has been deputed for supervising the recruitment in police department – a case has been registered against four persons, as per the Crime Report released today, for meddling with the official record by changing positive ‘dope test’ report with negative report, on rejection of their forms for on-going recruitment as Sepoy in police department. The ‘dope test’ of Harpreet Singh was found positive and on the basis of his form was rejected and later on, he managed the negative test copy with his rejected form. On checking his file, the positive ‘dope test’ report was missing on the basis of his form was rejected.
When the positive ‘dope test’ files were checked, it was revealed that the dope test positive reports were also not available in the files of Kuldip Singh son of Jagsir Singh resident of Kot Kaura and Manpreet Singh son of Zora Singh resident of Bargari and they have. While the investigation is still on, with the registration of a case under No.198 on August 31 under Section 420 IP, the two accused namely Harpreet Singh and Hardyal Singh have been arrested, the remaining two are yet to be arrested, said Harphul Singh, Inquiry Officer investigating into the case. He furher said, the remaining two are yet to be arrested and police teams are on the job to nab them also.Police While the largest ‘sample survey’ of drug addiction is being conducted of the reality of drug addiction in Punjab and which has been found to be only around 1.5 per cent or less than 2 per cent, of all tested, a case of changing of positive ‘dope test’ by the aspirants have come to notice at Faridkot.
