German teenager Zverev stuns Federer to reach Halle Open final

Halle : World number three Roger Federer’s bid to win his ninth Halle Open title suffered a setback as he was stunned by teenage German Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals on Saturday here in Halle.
The 17-time grand slam champion went down 6-7, 7-5, 3-6 against the German in the match that lasted for over two hours. With the win, 19-year-old Zverev became the first teenager to beat the Swiss giant since the current world number three fell to Andy Murray at the Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati in 2006.
38th ranked Zverev will now meet the winner of the other semifinal between Austrian Dominic Thiem and German Florian Mayer in the Gerry Weber Open, a tune-up event for Wimbledon.
