Gurdwara Sis Ganj area be declared national heritage: Ravneet Bittu

New Delhi : Congress MP from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu today demanded in the Lok Sabha that the historic Gurdwara Sis Ganj area in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk should be declared national heritage.
It may be mentioned that Ninth Sikh Lord, Guru Tegh Bahadur sacrificed his life here for the protection of human rights and religious freedom. His associates who were also martyred included Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das and Bhai Dyala.A demolition squad had recently demolished the water kiosk (Piao) outside Gurdwara Sis Ganj by terming it as encroachment.
Ravneet raised the issue in the Lok Sabha during zero hour and spoke at length about the importance of this sacred place in the history of the country.He called upon the Delhi government to declared this area as protected national heritage. He said Guru Tegh Bahadur gave his life for humanity and his martyrdom was unmatched in the history of the world.
