High Court Issues Notice to Punjab Government to Explain Sedition Charges Against Mann

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Acting on a petition submitted by Simranjit Singh Mann against the Punjab government, for falsely leveling sedition charges against him, Justice Ajay Tiwari of Punjab & Haryana High Court has issued a notice to Punjab government to reply on the issue by January 18.
Mann had claimed in the petition that the Punjab government did not possess any evidence for the sedition charges leveled against him following ‘Sarbat Khalsa’. Mann had further clarified in the petition that Punjab government was misusing its administrative powers by labeling him as a secessionist, as constitutionally demanding a separate nation was the basic right of every citizen.
