High Court rejects demand for judicial probe into killings in Punjab

Chandigarh : The Punjab and Haryana High Court today dismissed the plea for judicial probe into killings in Punjab during militancy in the context of the revelations made by dismissed cop Gurmit Singh Pinki. The petition to this effect had been filed by Gurjit Kaur, niece of Shaheed Bhagat Singh whose husband was claimed to have been killed by the police in encounter. Yet another petition had been filed by Parminder Pal Kaur whose husband Gurpreet Singh was also killed in police encounter.
