High drama as Punjab Speaker tells MLA Bains to leave House

Chandigarh : There was high drama at the Punjab Assembly session here on Friday as the Speaker asked Independent MLA Simarjit Singh Bains to leave the House.Bains had apparently got aggressive over not being allowed to speak on the issue of Punjab not demanding the bill for releasing water to Rajasthan and defied the Speaker’s order.Following this, the Speaker told the watch and ward staff to remove Bains, who is part of the newly launched Awaaz-e-Punjab, the fourth front, from the House. His elder brother, Balwinder Singh Bains, also joined him in the protest. The brothers, who had a scuffle with the security, were forcibly lifted and taken out. This is the first instance in this session that someone has been ordered out by the Speaker for defying his orders. Simarjit was thrown out of the Assembly building on the road and his kurta was torn in the process. The Bains brothers have asked the Punjab government to seek Rs 16 lakh crore from Rajasthan as the water bill.
