India,Pakistan celebrate Holi jointly first time after independence

ATTARI: (Amritsar) : Scripting new chapter in the Indo-Pak history the two border guarding forces of India and Pakistan celebrated Holi festival at Zero line (Joint Check Post) of Attari Wagah international border here on Thursday. It happened first time in the Indo-Pak history that both the warring border guarding forces were seen showering rose petals and flowers with writ large smile. DIG BSF Border Security Force (BSF) Mr. Sumer Singh said that this is first time in the India-Pakistan history both the neighboring nations played Holi with each other at International border, set up new precedent.By celebrating Holi together at international border both the nations practically shown goodwill gesture. Interestingly none of the officials either from Pakistan and India were seen carrying weapon with them, since they were really seen in relaxing mood and celebrating Indian traditional festival for the inner core of their heart.DIG BSF said, BSF and Pakistan border guarding force known as Pak Rangers showered flowers including rose petals on each others on the occasion of holy festival at JCP. He said BSF soldiers went on Zero line and Pakistan Rangers also came forward to greet BSF. BSF soldiers carrying plate with them containing flowers including rose petals showered on Pakistani Rangers and Pakistani Rangers also greeted BSF in a similar manner.Both the forces were wearing big smiles on their faces like colleague working in the same office.Indian BSF soldiers who went forward to zero line extended Holi festival greetings to their Pakistani counterparts; Pakistan reciprocated India while wearing smile on their faces in the presence of their senior officers.
