Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal’s Bail Plea Rejected

AMRITSAR SAHIB—The bail plea of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar, Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal has been rejected by the additional judge of district court the a charge of sedition registered against him in Amritsar Police station following Sarbat Khalsa (Nov 10).He lodged a plea on January 13 in the court of additional judge Harpreet Kaur Randhawa through his legal counsel Advocate KPS Bhatia. After conducting the plea hearing on Friday, it was rejected.Advocate Bhatia said the plea was lodged in view of successful pleas by other persons in similar cases. In an another case, Jathedar Baljit Singh appeared in a court of Sirsa (Haryana) on Friday in a case of the Ghukyanwali incident. His next hearing has been scheduled on February 2.Sikh organizations have alleged that the Badal government was deliberately harassing the Panth selected Jathedars of Sikh Takhts and framing them in false cases which is a grave violation of their human rights, and the Sikh community at large.
