Kashmir unrest: 60 terrorists sneak into Jammu and Kashmir taking advantage of clashes in the valley

Srinagar, Aug 18 : In wake of the ongoing unrest in the Kashmir Valley, armed terrorists are believed to be travelling across Jammu and Kashmir following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. Curfew remained in force for the 41st day today leaving normal life crippled. Innumerable clashes have been reported since a month which claimed life of about 65 people till now. According to reports, terrorists in north Kashmir’s Kupwara and Uri sectors have sneaked into central as well as south Kashmir. Despite heavy firing by the Indian Army and efforts taken to stop them from entering, nearly 60 terrorists have infiltrated into the Valley from across POK in the last couple of weeks, Intelligence officer was quoted saying. The officer also stated that five infiltrators were eliminated on Tuesday. It has been said by the intelligence officer that these terrorist outfits in Tral are recruiting youths in the forests.
According to a report released by Dainik Bhaskar, the protesters in the Kashmir force civilians to participate in the protest, thus showing it to be a mass protest. However, people in the Valley have shown continues disinterest to engage in such activities. Also, according to a report released by Intelligence Bureau, almost Rs. 100 crore from Pakistan reaches Kashmir through Hawala Channel to fan trouble and violence in the Valley. The report states that the Separatists receive the funds and distribute them among the youth in the valley to carry protests against sectary forces. Stone pelters are funded too. In another clash that took place on Wednesday, three personnel were killed in an ambush by Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in Baramulla. Senior Superintendent of Police of Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain said that the two soldiers and a police constable died in the attack on the convoy. However, Hizb claimed responsibility for the attack where its spokesman said, “Commander Saifullah Khalid directed the squad to intensify the attacks on security establishments.”
